I have mellowed considerably since my youth on this subject, when I viewed all Management books and theories with disdain, and I now think there are many good reasons why, for most of us, study is worthwhile, even of subjects such as 'Management':
1)"There is nothing so practical as a good theory"
2) You are always using a theory anyway, you may just not know which one
3) Reflection on experience ( sometimes called 'Trial and error') is an excellent way to learn
4) Reading what others have figured out before you is a good way of avoiding hubris
5) The top 10 reasons to study business management I have already posted on our website...
